In accordance with Education Code Section 47605(b), school districts are required to hold a public hearing before considering the renewal of a charter school.
The current charter for Sartorette Elementary School is set to expire on June 30, 2025. The District wishes to renew the charter for an additional five-year term, from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2030.
The renewal process is governed by Education Code Sections 47605, 47607, and 47607.2. Renewal petitions must include a reasonably comprehensive description of any new legal requirements for charter schools that have been enacted since the charter was originally approved or last renewed.
This public hearing offers the Board of Trustees an opportunity to gauge the level of support for the renewal from teachers, staff, and parents within the District.
The Sartorette charter renewal petition will be submitted to the Board for approval during the June 17, 2025, regular meeting. |
