On March 3, 2022, the Board awarded Beals Martin & Associates the General Trades Contract for the HVAC Project at Bagby, Fammatre, and Price Schools based on their low bid. Due to the various unidentified conflicts between planned new furnace closets and existing conditions, resulting in relocation and modifications, requiring additional expenditures and associated labor costs.
The revisions resulted in a 16.62% increase over the original contracted amount and requiring a resolution to continue with Beals Martin & Associates. It has been concluded that their costs are reasonable and going out to rebid the project would delay the project and result in unnecessary expenses to the District.

Staff recommends that the Governing Board approve Resolution 22-23-14 and allow Cambrian to continue working with Beals Martin & Associates and complete the HVAC General Trade Services for Phase 1 Modernizations at Bagby, Fammatre, and Price Schools.
