The District has embarked on generating local revenues through various site usage strategies due to the low funding through the State Local Control Funding Formula and declining enrollment from the demographic changes in the State. Metzler Elementary School “Metzler”, closed in the late 1970’s, is the only school site currently not used by the Cambrian School District for public education. Due to the size of the property, Metzler was basically split into three different parcels, Metzler A, B, and C. Metzler A is in the process of a property exchange with Silverado to develop a memory care facility and Metzler C was exchanged with Robson Homes for a new housing development in 2020. Metzler B, the school buildings, is the last part of the site to be maximized for revenue generation. The District wishes to enter into a long-term lease for the entirety of Metzler B with Casa di Mir Montessori School. |

Staff recommends the Governing Board approve the long-term lease agreement with Casa di Mir Montessori School, as it is in the best interests of the District. |
